The Global Meeting Place for Industry Established in 1947 as part of the Allies’ effort to restart Germany’s economy following World War II, HANNOVER MESSE is now the world’s largest and most influential event for industrial technology, annually showcasing between 5,000 and 6,500 exhibiting companies and attracting more than 200,000 visitors and 2,500 journalists from all over the world.
HANNOVER MESSE sets itself apart with comprehensive coverage of key industrial sectors, all at one place and at one time. The 2016 trade fair lineup includes industrial automation, energy and environmental technology, industrial subcontracting and lightweight design, and research and development. Plus, a supporting program of more than 1,000 conferences, forums, and special events is a treasure trove of information on subjects ranging from advanced manufacturing, additive manufacturing, bionics and smart grids to international trade and jobs and skill development.
Furthermore, HANNOVER MESSE is the global torchbearer of Industrie 4.0 – most succinctly described as the digitalization of manufacturing. In 2013, HANNOVER MESSE introduced the lead theme “Integrated Industry” in order to highlight the importance to industry of combining automation technologies and IT to improve efficiency and output. Now, for 2016, the lead theme “Integrated Industry – Discover Solutions!” states that Industrie 4.0 is a reality and networked solutions and technologies will be demonstrated at HANNOVER MESSE.
